Development update

After many months of some serious work under the hood (thanks Jack!), "Doc Logic" is running in XNA4.0, and is currently available for Playtest for XNA Creators Club members. We are currently putting the final touches on the game, fixing minor bugs and touching up the menus. We will also be submitting "Doc Logic" to the DreamBuildPlay contest this summer.

Our other game "Edgar" is also in its final stages of development. All of the coding has been complete, we are just waiting for the the last batch of artwork and music.....trust us, it is well worth the wait (thanks Tyler, Luke and Scott).

As always, there is no set release date for Doc Logic or Edgar...they are done when they are done. New bugs are constantly emerging and must be destroyed!

After Doc Logic and Edgar launch on XBLIG, we have a number of short term goals we wish to achieve before we take our development to the next level:

  • Reboot "Cosmic Lacrosse" and "Cosmic Weapon" (art assets are already completed)
  • Focus on porting all 4 games to PC and Android (thank you Sony for the Xperia Play phone!)

Ultimately, we want to be in a constant creative state, and not porting our completed games to other platforms. However, multi-platform middleware engines currently don't exist for XNA, and no one is making a living off the Xbox Live Indie Games platform, which is incentive to look at these other platforms, and any new platforms emerging.

However, during this time, we will also be writing detailed design documents for our next round of games, which will be more ambitious in scope, but still realistic for a small team in an average amount of time. These games include:

  • Doc Logic 2 - metroidvania style platformer, with Doc traversing both an 8-bit-style and Next-Gen-hand-drawn universe, all while questioning his own existence.
  • Snowboarding game(untitled) - 2D hand-drawn, with an emphasis on simulation. Massive Japanese-inspired-bosses and offensive/defensive abilities based on actual snowboarding moves.

We hope that the revenue generated from our 4 "arcade style games" (Doc Logic, Edgar, Cosmic Weapon, Cosmic Lacrosse) on multiple platforms, along with any money we can raise through Kickstarter.com will give us the freedom to work full time on our future projects.

As you can tell, we just absolutely love making games, and are fueled by simply the desire to make more games.
